Adaption duration

I started a 25 week training program:

I did 9 weeks of it, and then for some reason I backed off for a about 2 months. then I started it again from week 10, but I backed off again after a few weeks.

I ruined it. I want to start from the very start. (this time with no interruptions) this workout worked great for me.

I want to know will it have the same effect it had before? or no, it will not be effective anymore, because my body adapted to it?

how long is the adaption duration. is it for ever?
