I really dont think sex or masturbation will have much effect on test levels enough to make a difference to your physique! Arguably maybe excessive ejaculation.. which hasnt been quantified as above.
Ejaculation will not decrease serum testosterone. Semen does NOT contain testosterone.

Youll feel that way because your sympathetic nervous system is not firing and I think endorphins are released hence why people feel much better after sex.
By all means if it helps you with training to save your load then do it. My old football coach used to tell us to sleep with boxing gloves on the night before games. I always feel more focused and determined when I have some juice in the tank.

i am 20 now, but back in high school I was a pitcher for my baseball team... if I didnt beat off the morning of a game day I threw about 85 mph, but for some reason I decided to beat off before a lot of my games and I could only throw about 80 mph..... and then for some other odd reason I would work out and beat off before games which dropped it down to about 77 mph..

I think that not having sex increases aggresiveness, but IMO i don't think it increases the hormone itself. It just increases the drive for it and the aggresiveness comes with it. That may be why some ppl are saying that they can push more weight when they refrain from sex for a period of time.

Sex doesn't 'directly' affect muscle growth, but you may be a little less 'motivated' after sex. Since sex generally relaxes people, you may not feel like going to the gym right afterwards. But if you wait a few hours, or the next day...you'll be fine. The orgasm (release of semen) shouldn't have any effect on muscle growth. You're still gonna have the testosterone needed to build muscle.

I tend to workout from Saturday - Wednesday and rest on thursday & friday, and on friday i Measure my Biceps + Chest + waist, and i see no Decrease in any muscle size !! in fact i gain 2 or 3 out of 16 an Inch on my arms and 6 or 7 out of 16 an inch on my chest and back (just to be clear 1 inch = 16) ... and i do masturbate 1-2 or max of 3 times a week but still i sense growth in all muscle groups if i am working out properly and eating my meals properly (i am doing MuscleNow program) and yes after ejaculation i do feel tired and smaller and UNBULKED and i do regret on doing what i did but still at the end of the week there is growth ...
once i asked the trainer at the gym i go to that wheather sex/masturbation has an effect on muscle building and he said it might effect energy and power levels so it is better to not do it when you have a workout session the other day but he said if you have no workout the other day its ok to do it but to recycle whatever has been lost in ur body while having sex/masturbating he said its better to eat seafood and have some simple sugars and the musclenow program i am on is all about simple sugars pre and post workouts ..

glad to see my thread was so popular, time to resurrect it... anyways I saw a sports science show on FSN and they tested an athletes endurance, strength, and testosterone levels before and a couple hours after sex and EVERYTHING increased....
still, I could be feeling all nice and pumped and in a good mood as far as muscle goes, then I'll sleep with my girlfriend and immediately after that I just feel depleted (not just energy wise, but my muscles just feel flat) so, my conclusion is that sex when done sparingly (1-2 times per week) probably does not effect muscle growth, but it does effect mental things (like lack of pump & flat feeling), which can lead to less motivation, which can lead to worse workouts and missed meals, which leads to less muscle .... so if you are mentally tough to not let that flat feeling bother you, I praise you.

You feel depleted because you've used just about every muscle in your body for an extended (hopefully) period of time. If you're not feeling completely used up, you either had a quickie or you aren't doing it right.
That being said, ummmm....1-2 times per week? If you have kids, are in a long distance relationship, or are single I can understand, but if you're dating or married, to withold because you want a better workout is just cruel!!!

Okay here is a good Lifting observation. depends on day. You talk about energy levels before lifting and wether blowing the load before hand has an effect. well considerr this...Before I dont think is much of a difference but If I lift first I personal dont have a sexual drive after at all. like the jerk is replaced by lifting. But i do notice on some days I focus a lot better If I blow the load before the gym it seems to help a lot stay focus but I do get a little tired if I sit down so i guess keeping active after blowing the load hit the gy and sleep. again my opinion. personal preference. any scientific evidence out there?
