Everything is going up protein wise..It isnt the compansy it is b/c of the increase in milk and cattle..Some price increases are really big I know one company there 5lb tub of protein has gone up 20 bucks over 2 increases..

Eggs are more my sirloin I get is 50cents more a lb..So it is everywhere just depends on how much stock the company had before they have to buy again and get hit with the increase.

Huh? there are several different kinds of whey Brsett isolete being the most expensive and the best for absorbstion time and quality..All of it is really whey just different levels except for egg and soy protein.

A protein shake with a whey blend has many uses and agaiin protein powder derived from milk is whey so yes prices are going up alot..
No, but I read an article today that showed that casein is better in pwo shakes anyway today (something some folks have been saying for a while). Whey is quickly running out of uses apparently. Now the only uses I know are pre-workout and for breakfast -- and truthfully bcaa's are better in those cases too, they are just way too expensive for most folks (you've got to take more than the bottle says). Workout in the mornings like me, and you only need a little whey.

Actually, last time I sat down and did the math, whey was so cheap I will still prefer it to casein because I'm poor rt now. If that changes, I will happily use casein which supposedly tastes better anyway (and can be purchased in milk).
Whey is an essential part of the bodybuilding relm. IT WORKS.. pwo (PostWorkOut or PreWorkOut????)
If youd like to get very technical you wouldnt want a slow absorbing protein pre-w/o.. The insulin levels are important. I know i drink whey first thing in the morning. quick absorbtion and easily absorbed.
Sure, but isolate absorbs even faster than concentrate -- and apparently the problem with whey concentrate is that it absorbs too quickly for postworkout, nighttime, etc. Casein absorbs more slowly, and apparently that works better (at least according to the study summary I read today). Mornings and preworkout, whey should still be fine, tho bcaa's are apparently even better.

OTOH, you are right that if whey is going up in price, casein probably is too since both are derived from milk/cows, as you said.
WPI supposedly isnt as easily absorbed as people thought. studies are comming back that whey just might be better than isolate. I personally like Hydrolized whey.. either way. just get your protein in. Whey and casein/micellar have worked well for me and i'm not changing.
