Hey everyone. Im new to the forum n not technically new to body building but still fairly new to it. Ive been working out for a few months (5-6) now and have put on some muscle but i havent really put on any weight. Im 18 years old and about 5'8 at 167lbs. My goal is to hit 190 or 195 before i start to tone my muscles. Does anyone have any tips they could give me or any at home workouts (ive got dumbells/treadmill/punching bag) that i could do to help me get there? Ive been drinking 30g protein shakes and they help a little but i havent really noticed a differance. I bought Mass XXX (66g protein 990 calories) that i will be taking 2 servings of daily (one in the morning one at night) for a week to see if it helps. I dont do hardcore workouts so im thinking it might be a bit much and it will just turn to fat but like i said im new to all this and would really appreciate some help.

then you have to look at what you eat as wel... dont take that mass XXX stuff that has 990 cals. take a high prteoin low carb shake...

also what you said is you dont do hardcore workouts.... if your going into the gym and half ass it your gonig to go nowhere... you need to find some mtoivation and lift heavy and hard. you want to improve your health and bodybuild... we dont half ass it ourselves in the gym

As blunt as A.B. is, he's right. A bodybuilder not doing hardcore workouts is like a scientist not using his brain. Bodybuilding and hardcore go hand in hand! Unfortunately, you dont have enough equiptment (only dumbbells) to gain a lot of mass, and taking all that mass gainer and extra calories with no hardcore training to show for it will make you a doughboy. Fortunately for you, you ARE a pretty big dude for your age, and with the right training, you could get to 200 easy. You NEED to get to a gym, seriously. What you have just isnt enough. The weight gainer is unnessecary for you, maybe only one a day once you start training properly. The protein shakes (pretty much just straight protein) r great though, and you will be using those forever as long as you are bodybuilding. Get to a gym, man, and take advantage of your size u already have.

Hey Bro.
I agree eating is the key but eating the right food at the right times. Also you have to be a beast in the gym or at your home gym. Check out the website below Muscle-4Life-Nutrition.com it has tons of advice and supps. Stay Strong Bro.

If your really wanting to put on the pounds then your gonna have to lift em lol. I agree wholeheartedly that you need to get to a real gym asap and start really hitting it hard. Judging from your equipment you should be pretty ripped and to be honest with ya, you don't have to put on a ton of fat to build mass.

Start getting into the gym and start training to failure and you will see dramatic results in no time. Remember however that from is everything and good form means preventing injury. I 'm saying that because at your age and experience level its very very easy to feel like superman and push those muscles and joints a little too hard.

By the way, welcome to the roller-coaster because that's exactly what body-building is.

the only way to put on those 20-25lbs of muscle you are looking for is to train like an animal. The only reason you body builds muscle is in response to stress you put on it. The more stress=the more muscle.

I agree with some members here.
If you want pure muscle you will have to eat alot of healthy food. with low fat and low carbs. You are allowed 1 cheat meal a week.
Thats where its tricky. You have to take low carb, high protein shake in between meals to keep your system working (not sure how to say it properly) and that way you build pure muscle.

If you eat fatty food the fat will be in the way for your muscles to absorb the protein fast. low fat = fast protein absorption. If you eat properly with low fat, your system will focus on the protein and the good stuff more.

I hope i explained it right. haha

Also train hard! 5 times a week.

if u have low fat right now i can guarantee you will be a solid lean mofo in 3 months.

It is working for me Smile
ps you will feel great Smile

when you need to get muscle (bulk) you need eat like 4-5 times per day (more than a normal person) it is because you need to give nutrition to the growing muscles all the time. so the key is eat! you wont get if you do the correct workout.

welcome to the forum..!

if you're planning to gain weight but you want it to be less fats, first thing is to eat good foods with no calories and supplements for gaining weight.
